Second-ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (24-11) was very close to win a game against first ranked Joensuun Kataja (28-8) on Saturday. Joensuun Kataja managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected easier game. Joensuun Kataja made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Joensuun Kataja forced 20 Loimaan Korikonkarit turnovers. Strangely Loimaan Korikonkarit outrebounded Joensuun Kataja 42-26 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. 30 personal fouls committed by Loimaan Korikonkarit helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard B.A. Walker (188-84, college: VCU, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 6 assists. International guard Petri Virtanen (183-80) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners.
