A very close game took place in Valencia between Gandia Basquet and Tenerife. Eleventh ranked Gandia Basquet (5-15) got a very close home victory over 13th ranked Tenerife (4-16). Gandia Basquet managed to escape with a 2-point win 63-61 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 14-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gandia Basquet forced 20 Tenerife turnovers. Strangely Tenerife outrebounded Gandia Basquet 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. American forward Anthony jr. Oha (198-83, college: Prairie View A&M) nailed 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Brazilian center Guilherme Gitterer (204-85) accounted for 12 points. American point guard Nicholas Moore (186-80, college: Toledo) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Tenerife in the defeat. Tenerife's coach Jou Costa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Gandia Basquet maintains eleventh place with 5-15 record. Tenerife lost fourth consecutive game. Tenerife at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Gandia Basquet will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tenerife will play against Barca Regal II (#5) in Barcelona and hope to secure a win.
