An interesting game for Grodno-93 (19-3) which played road game in Vitebsk against 3rd placed Rubon (11-10). Second ranked Grodno-93 had an easy win 89-73. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. Rubon was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ukrainian center Vadim Matyukevych (208-80) stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and the former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-75) chipped in 16 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The best for the losing side was guard Siarhei Sapegin (195-84) with 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Marsel Ovsepian (202-90) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Grodno-93 and five Rubon players scored in double figures. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Grodno-93 maintains second place with 19-3 record behind leader Minsk-2006. Rubon at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
