JBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (30-10) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (12-28) in Kariya 78-69. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Mitsubishi Dolphins won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mitsubishi Dolphins were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Hashimoto Ryoma (178-88) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Aishin Sea Horses' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Walter Brown-Matsushima (200-75, college: Boston U.) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American center Byron Allen (201-81, college: Northwestern St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 7 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 30-10 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 28 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers (#4) in Osaka.
