Regular Season Round 18: TSU Tbilisi - Samedicino 74-83

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Samedicino-Academia (#7) and TSU (#8). TSU was defeated at home 74-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. TSU was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Samedicino-Academia forced 20 TSU turnovers. It was a good game for guard Mikheil Chochua (193-87) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Samedicino-Academia players scored in double figures. Center Tornike Niniashvili (205-82) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Mikheil Chitashvili (193-84) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for TSU. Samedicino-Academia maintains seventh position with 7-10 record. TSU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with STU Tbilisi. Samedicino-Academia are looking forward to face higher ranked Kutaisi (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TSU's supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena STU.
