Rather predictable result in Lugo where ninth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (15-13) beat 13th ranked Basquet Mallorca (12-16) 80-75 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 39-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Leche Rio Breogan made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Leche Rio Breogan outrebounded Basquet Mallorca 38-22 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Basquet Mallorca was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese forward Papa Diasse (212-87, college: SMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. point guard Joan Carles Bivia (185-85) produced 15 points and 9 assists and American forward Shaun Green (203-87, college: Utah, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Five Basquet Mallorca players scored in double figures. Leche Rio Breogan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Knet Clavijo. Newly promoted Basquet Mallorca dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan will face CB Clavijo (#8) in Logrono in the next round. Basquet Mallorca will play at home against Clinicas Rincon (#18) in Malaga.
