Regular Season Round 26: Quimper - Rouen 69-67

Date: March 17, 2012
There was a small surprise when eighteenth ranked Quimper UJAP (7-19) edged at home 16th ranked SPO Rouen (9-17) 69-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-67. Liberian-American Pele Paelay (193-84, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Two Points) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center William Molas (206-88) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Paelay is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Jason Siggers (189-85, college: Albany) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Alex Dunn (210-82, college: Wyoming) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Quimper UJAP moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Vichy. SPO Rouen lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 17 games lost. Quimper UJAP will face higher ranked Saint Vallier (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
