Bottom-ranked Coras de Tepic (0-5) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to seventh ranked Frayles de Guasave (3-3) 97-93 on Saturday evening. Coras de Tepic was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Frayles de Guasave, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Panamanian forward Gabriel Giron (192-88) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Victor Buelna (192-78) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Frayles de Guasave's coach Jose Dilone allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Jerard Anderson who recorded 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Miguel Ayala (198-82, college: UTEP) added 25 points respectively. Five Frayles de Guasave and four Coras de Tepic players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Los Mochis and Cananea. Loser Coras de Tepic still closes the standings with five games lost. Frayles de Guasave will meet Fuerza Guinda Nogales (#8) on the road in the next round. Coras de Tepic will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
