There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Sendai 89ers (19-20) were outplayed at home by fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (24-15) 80-61 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-61. Shiga L-Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sendai 89ers' 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shiga L-Stars made 8 blocks. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds.
