Very expected game when 9th ranked Bolzano (8-14) was defeated at home by third ranked San Martino (16-6) 52-46 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 6 points. San Martino dominated on the defensive end, holding Bolzano to just 4 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. San Martino forced 23 Bolzano turnovers. Point guard Caterina Dotto (167-93) fired 23 points for the winners. Guard Maria Pegoraro (174-89) chipped in 10 points. Polish-French center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, college: Liberty, agency: LBM Management) produced 7 points and 7 rebounds and guard Elena Zambarda (180-87) added 11 points respectively for lost side.
