Very expected game when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-37) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (25-14) 79-75 on Saturday. Takamatsu FA trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 31-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-79 at the end of the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Swingman Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing maintains fourth place with 25-14 record. Takamatsu FA lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 37 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Takamatsu FA will play again against Fukuoka Rizing (#4) and hope to secure a win.
