There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (20-20) won against on the road 4th placed Toyama Grouses (21-18) 86-78 on Saturday. Yokohama BC dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Toyama Grouses' 40. Yokohama BC forced 21 Toyama Grouses turnovers. American players dominated the game. Forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Devin Searcy (208-89, college: Dayton, agency: Pro One Sports) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Brian Harper (206-85, college: Paine, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC moved-up to fifth place. Toyama Grouses lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 18 games lost. Yokohama BC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyama Grouses will play again against Yokohama BC (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
