Regular Season Round 21: Talje - Eagles 61-99

Basketettan top team - White Eagles (20-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Talje Knights (9-12) 99-61. It looked good early as Talje Knights took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then White Eagles had a 22-11 second period charge getting the lead and Talje Knights were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-99. White Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Talje Knights' 34. They outrebounded Talje Knights 37-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Joseph Taylor (203-85, college: Wyoming) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Montenegrin center Davor Femic (205-83) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five White Eagles players scored in double figures. White Eagles' coach Stefan Bergman felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Gustav Sundstrom (195-91) with 20 points and point guard Filip Kovacek (180-95) scored 11 points. White Eagles have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 20-0 record. Talje Knights at the other side keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. White Eagles will play against Jarva Devils (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Talje Knights will play against the league's second-placed Taby Basket and hope to get back on the winning track.
