Twelfth-ranked Lottomatica Roma (10-14) was very close to win a game against second ranked Bennet Cantu (15-8) on Sunday. Bennet Cantu managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lottomatica Roma won fourth quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bennet Cantu made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Lottomatica Roma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Doron Perkins (188-83, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (216-89) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian forward Nihad Djedovic (196-90, agency: Beo Basket) answered with 23 points and American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Pro One Sports) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lottomatica Roma. Lottomatica Roma's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bennet Cantu have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-8 record having four points less than leader Montepaschi. Lottomatica Roma lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost.
