Regular Season Round 22: Rubon - Impuls BGUIR 73-62

Very significant was Rubon's (#3, 13-10) victory against one of their biggest challengers BGUIR-RTI (9-14) 73-62. The game was mostly controlled by Rubon. BGUIR-RTI was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rubon forced 30 BGUIR-RTI turnovers. Forward Marsel Ovsepian (202-90) notched 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Viktor Ovsepian (200-91) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Rubon's coach Ruslan Baidakov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by forward Aliaksandr Hrumiantsau (205-91) did not help to save the game for BGUIR-RTI. Forward Evgeniy Sugoniako (198-92) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Rubon maintains third position with 13-10 record having seven points less than leader Minsk-2006. BGUIR-RTI at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Minsk-2006 II. Rubon will play against league's leader Minsk-2006 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BGUIR-RTI will play against SBK Osipovichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
