No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (10-13) defeated at home 11th ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (8-15) 80-74 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ironi Kiryat Ata won fourth quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Ramat Gan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ironi Kiryat Ata was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Raviv Pitshon (201-89) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds. The former international power forward Amit Tamir (208-79, college: California) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tony Younger (200-80, college: Spring Hill, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) produced 17 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Lenny Daniel (201-87, college: CS Northridge) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ironi Ramat Gan moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Elitzur Ramla. Newly promoted Ironi Kiryat Ata keeps the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Ironi Ramat Gan will face league's leader Hapoel Tel-Aviv on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Kiryat Ata will play against Hapoel Yokneam/Megido (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
