Regular Season Round 40: Nilan Bisons - LrNMKY 86-88

The most exciting game of round 40 in the Korisliiga took place in Loimaa. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit (24-12) to eighth ranked LrNMKY (15-21) 88-86 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 22-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Pasi Riihela (199-75) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Lawrence Hamm (198-84, college: Towson, agency: Court Side) who added 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Matti Nuutinen (200-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LrNMKY have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 15-21 record. Loimaan Korikonkarit lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with 12 games lost. LrNMKY are looking forward to face higher ranked Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Loimaan Korikonkarit will play on the road against Kouvot in Kouvola and is hoping to win this game.
