Regular Season Round 31: Casalpusterlengo - Treviglio 73-84

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Casalpusterlengo's (17-14) home loss to third ranked Treviglio (19-12) 73-84 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-73. Strangely Casalpusterlengo outrebounded Treviglio 44-27 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for guard Tommaso Marino (190-86, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 assists. Power forward Gabriele Zanella (204-81) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Treviglio's coach Adriano Vertemati allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Cameroonian center Paul Biligha (200-90, agency: Players Group) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Riccardo Casagrande (196-88, agency: Two Points) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Casalpusterlengo. Five Treviglio and four Casalpusterlengo players scored in double figures. Treviglio moved-up to second place, which they share with Torino. Casalpusterlengo lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with 14 games lost. Treviglio will face league's leader Napoli at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Casalpusterlengo will play against Anagni and be promoted back to the Lega2 just one year after relegation.
