Ford Burgos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Ford Burgos dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Lleida Basquet's 26 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lleida Basquet 43-19 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. British-American forward Darren Phillip (201-78, college: Fairfield) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and power forward Josep Ortega (200-84) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ford Burgos players scored in double figures. American-Austrian guard Jason Detrick (198-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Court Side) came up with 13 points and Ivorian-American forward Jonathan Kale (203-85, college: Providence) added 11 points respectively for Lleida Basquet in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ford Burgos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lleida. Ford Burgos will meet Palencia Baloncesto (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Lleida Basquet will play against the league's second-placed Menorca Basquet (#2) in Mahon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
