Rather expected game when 5th ranked SBK Osipovichi (8-15) was crushed on the road by second ranked Grodno-93 (20-3) 110-86 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Grodno-93. SBK Osipovichi was better in second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Grodno-93 outrebounded SBK Osipovichi 41-19 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. SBK Osipovichi was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Ukrainian center Vadim Matyukevych (208-80) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Dzmitry Kuzmin (196-75) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Ilya Sharipov (197-91) responded with 20 points and the former international center Yury Mishukov (205-85) scored 19 points. Five Grodno-93 and four SBK Osipovichi players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Grodno-93 maintains second position with 20-3 record behind leader Minsk-2006. SBK Osipovichi lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 15 games lost. Grodno-93 will face Minsk-2006 II (#4) at home in the next round. SBK Osipovichi will play against BGUIR-RTI in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
