No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Cairns Taipans (15-13) defeated at home bottom-ranked Adelaide 36ers (8-20) 79-75. It looked good early as Adelaide 36ers took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cairns Taipans took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. American point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany, agency: Pro One Sports) nailed 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and swingman Aaron Grabau (196-78) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and center Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Adelaide 36ers in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Cairns Taipans moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Crocodiles. Adelaide 36ers lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
