Regular Season Round 29: Clavijo - Breogan 79-86

Everything could happen in Logrono at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Leche Rio Breogan and 8th ranked CB Clavijo had identical 15-13 record. But CB Clavijo was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Lugo 86-79. It looked good early as CB Clavijo took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. Then Leche Rio Breogan had a 26-17 second period charge getting the lead and CB Clavijo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-86. Leche Rio Breogan dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to CB Clavijo's 34. The best player for the winners was Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Center Manuel Gomez (203-78) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Nigerian power forward Olaseni Lawal (208-86, college: Wayne St., MI) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and guard Alberto Ruiz de Galarreta (198-83) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Leche Rio Breogan (16-13) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted CB Clavijo dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be Girona FC (#12) at home. CB Clavijo will play against Clinicas Rincon in Malaga.
