An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stadrbredimus. Second ranked Sparta faced one of their biggest challengers Musel Pikes. Guests from Bertrange (19-5) defeated host Musel Pikes (13-11) 91-79. Musel Pikes was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Sparta made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Sparta outrebounded Musel Pikes 35-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American point guard Kasey Ulin (184-82, college: Dickinson St.) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Larrie Smith (198-75, college: Tenn Tech) contributed with 23 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds and American-British forward Philip Perre (198-79, college: N.Alabama) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Musel Pikes. Four Sparta and five Musel Pikes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sparta maintains second position in League with 19-5 record behind leader T71. Musel Pikes at the other side keeps the third place with 11 games lost. Sparta will play against Residence (#4) in Bereldange in the next round. Musel Pikes will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and hopes to get back on the winning track.
