Regular Season Round 11: Taiwan Mobile - KKL 76-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Taiwan Mobile (10-14) was defeated by sixth ranked KKL (9-14) 80-76 on Saturday. KKL started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-17. But Taiwan Mobile won second period 17-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for the former international center Wei-Fang Shang (196-78) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Tse-hua Chou (184-87) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists. Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Jing-Huan Chen (190-86) scored 15 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KKL maintains sixth place with 9-14 record. Taiwan Mobile lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 14 games lost. KKL will face league's second-placed Dacin Tigers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taiwan Mobile will play against Bank of Taiwan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
