Regular Season Round 25: Rosa II Radom - Handlopex AZS 69-68

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Rosa II Radom (10-13) edged at home 4th placed Handlopex AZS (14-9) 69-68 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Handlopex AZS won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Rosa II Radom won last quarter 9-10. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Handlopex AZS turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rosa II Radom made 11 blocks. Quite impressive performance for guard Artur Donigiewicz (185-84) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Piotr Kardas (182-78) contributed with 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Power forward Piotr Mis (204-77) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and guard Krzysztof Banys (185-84) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Handlopex AZS. Four Rosa II Radom and five Handlopex AZS players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Rosa II Radom moved-up to ninth place in Group C, which they share with Unia Tarnow. Loser Handlopex AZS keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Rosa II Radom will face higher ranked Tur Bielsk Pdl. (#3) in Bielsk Podlaski in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Handlopex AZS will play at home against the league's leader PWiK Piaseczno having rather not much hope for a victory.
