An interesting game for Menorca Basquet (19-10) which hosted in Mahon second-ranked UB La Palma (19-10). Third ranked Menorca Basquet managed to get a 10-point victory 75-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UB La Palma. UB La Palma was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 45-33 second half run of Menorca Basquet. Power forward Andreu Matali (204-81) stepped up and scored 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American forward Taylor Coppenrath (205-81, college: Vermont) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Menorca Basquet players scored in double figures. American forward Lucas Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Menorca Basquet moved-up to second place, which they share with La Palma. Menorca Basquet will play against Lleida Basquet (#5) on the road in the next round. UB La Palma will play against the league's leader Canarias in Tenerife and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
