Rather predictable result in Osaka where fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (24-18) defeated 7th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (12-30) 76-66. The game was mostly controlled by Hitachi Sunrockers. Mitsubishi Dolphins was better in second period 15-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. American power forward Jamar Smith (206-80, college: Maryland) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) answered with 17 points and the other American import center Byron Allen (201-81, college: Northwestern St., agency: SDJ Sports) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Mitsubishi Dolphins. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hitachi Sunrockers moved-up to third place, which they share with Panasonic T. Mitsubishi Dolphins lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 30 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
