The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Polpharma's (11-20) road victory over 7th ranked PBG Basket (10-22) 67-56 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-56. Polpharma dominated on the defensive end, holding PBG Basket to just 5 points in second quarter. They made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American forward Jeremy Simmons (203-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and swingman Piotr Dabrowski (192-86) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Polpharma's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) responded with 16 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and Serbian forward Zarko Comagic (201-85, college: N.Arizona, agency: 011 Sports) scored 12 points. Polpharma moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Loser PBG Basket keeps the seventh position with 22 games lost. Polpharma will face higher ranked Kotwica (#3) in Kolobrzeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PBG Basket will play at home against the league's leader Slask Wroclaw (#1).
