An interesting game for Lattes Montpellier (20-4) which played road game in Tarbes against 4th ranked Tarbes (13-11). Second ranked Lattes Montpellier had an easy win 88-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tarbes. The game was mostly controlled by Lattes Montpellier. Tarbes managed to win third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lattes Montpellier dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tarbes' 32 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Lattes Montpellier forced 19 Tarbes turnovers. The winners were led by the former international forward Fatimatou Sacko (183-85) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Edwige Lawson-Wade (166-79) supported her with 12 points and 6 assists. Five Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by American swingman Alex Montgomery (185-89, college: Georgia Tech) did not help to save the game for Tarbes. The former international center Ana-Maria Cata-Chitiga (195-89) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lattes Montpellier have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bourges. Tarbes at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Mondeville. Lattes Montpellier will meet at home Nantes Reze (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarbes will play against Challes-les-Eaux (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
