Rather expected game when 12th ranked Aix-en-Provence (7-17) lost to ninth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (11-13) in Les Milles 45-50 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aix-en-Provence won fourth quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Greek forward Zoi Dimitrakou (188-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Mali center Djene Diawara (192-85) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Latvian power forward Liene Jansone (191-81, college: Siena) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sylvie Gruszczynski (171-86) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Aix-en-Provence. Charleville-Mezieres maintains ninth position with 11-13 record. Loser Aix-en-Provence keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face league's leader Bourges at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aix-en-Provence will play against Basket Landes (#6) in Mont de Marsan.
