There was an upset when 4th placed Muggia (15-8) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Alghero (8-15) 68-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alghero. Muggia was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alghero forced 19 Muggia turnovers. Bulgarian power forward Radostina Slavova-Naneva (188-86) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Center Costanza Giorgi (185-89) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Alghero players scored in double figures. Guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian center Ajda Gabrovsek (190-84) added 8 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Muggia. Alghero moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Bolzano. Newly promoted Muggia keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Alghero will face league's second-placed Vigarano on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Muggia will play against San Martino in San Martino di L and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
