There was no surprise in Stadrbredimus where 5th ranked AB Contern (11-13) was defeated by second ranked Musel Pikes (20-4) 75-64. The game was mostly controlled by Musel Pikes. AB Contern was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Musel Pikes forced 24 AB Contern turnovers. Strangely AB Contern outrebounded Musel Pikes 38-21 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Christine Fisher (183-83) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Carine Cigrang (175-85) accounted for 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American power forward Amanda Stowe (186-79, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and center Tessy Margue (181-84) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for AB Contern in the defeat. Defending champion maintains second place in League with 20-4 record having just -13 point less than leader Amicale. AB Contern at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Musel Pikes' next round opponent will be league's leader Etzella in Ettelbruck and it will be for sure the game of the week. AB Contern will play at home against Residence (#4) in Bereldange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
