Regular Season Round 24: Periko/Arhelaos - AEK Athens 61-45

An interesting game took place in Perikos where higher ranked AEK (14-10) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Periko/Arhelaos (9-15) 61-45. The game was mostly controlled by Periko/Arhelaos. AEK was better in fourth quarter 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for forward Thodoris Panaras (195-77) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Forward Paraskeva Martzos (197-85, agency: FCM) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Vaggelis Sklavos (202-77) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Antonis Mantzaris (196-86) added 15 points in the effort for AEK. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Periko/Arhelaos moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Pagrati. AEK at the other side dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Periko/Arhelaos' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked AEK/Argous (#16) on the road. AEK will play against Ermis Lagkada (#10) in Lagadas and be promoted back to the A1 just one year after relegation.
