Very expected game when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-39) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (25-16) 88-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Takamatsu FA was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shiga L-Stars made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) helped adding 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Shiga L-Stars maintains fifth place with 25-16 record. Takamatsu FA lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 39 games lost. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against Shiga L-Stars (#5).
