There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Latina Basket (15-16) was outscored by fourth ranked Santarcangelo (13-19) in Sant'Arcangelo 71-46 on Sunday. The game without a history. Santarcangelo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Latina Basket's 32. Santarcangelo forced 19 Latina Basket turnovers. Center Andrea Ancellotti (212-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Swingman Luca Bedetti (193-89) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Andrea Quarisa (202-92) replied with 10 points and 8 rebounds and forward Giulio Gazzotti (202-91) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Latina Basket. Newly promoted Santarcangelo maintains fourth position with 13-19 record. Loser Latina Basket dropped to the third place with 16 games lost. Santarcangelo will face Anagni (#6) on the road in the next round. Latina Basket will play against Firenze and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
