Top ranked Okinawa GK (34-10) recorded its tenth loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Osaka Evessa (29-13) 75-70. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Strangely Okinawa GK outrebounded Osaka Evessa 45-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Narito Namizato (175-89) who recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) added 8 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa maintains second position with 29-13 record having just -1 victories less than leader Okinawa GK. Okinawa GK at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. Osaka Evessa are looking forward to face Miyazaki Shining Suns (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
