There was a minor upset in Santoago de Comp where 12th ranked FIATC Joventut (11-15) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Blusens Monbus (9-17) 73-60 on Sunday. Blusens Monbus dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to FIATC Joventut's 34. Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-82, college: Massachusetts) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican point guard Andres Rodriguez (184-81, college: American) chipped in 4 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. American forward Latavious Williams (202-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Pooh Jeter (179-83, college: Portland) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Blusens Monbus maintains fifteenth position with 9-17 record. FIATC Joventut at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Blusens Monbus will face higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#14) in Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
