A very interesting game took place in Avellino. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Angelico Biella (11-14) to ninth ranked Air Avellino (13-12) 71-70 on Sunday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Angelico Biella won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Air Avellino forced 19 Angelico Biella turnovers. American power forward Linton Johnson (203-80, college: Tulane, agency: Priority Sports) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Alessandro Infanti (190-85, agency: Two Points) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Air Avellino players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86, agency: Beo Basket) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Slovenian power forward Goran Jurak (203-77) added 17 points in the effort for Angelico Biella. Air Avellino moved-up to eighth place. Angelico Biella at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Air Avellino's next round opponent will be league's leader Montepaschi Siena on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Angelico Biella will play against CS Bologna (#7).
