Regular Season Round 48: Takamatsu FA - Shiga L-Stars 71-84

Date: March 25, 2012
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (26-16) defeated on the road 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-40) 84-71. It looked good early as Takamatsu FA took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Shiga L-Stars had a 26-14 second period charge getting the lead and Takamatsu FA was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-84. Shiga L-Stars made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Takamatsu FA turnovers. The winners were led by Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 19 rebounds and Trinidad and Tobago power forward Julius Ashby (205-82, college: Colorado) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds by American power forward Paul Butorac (208-83, college: E.Washington) did not help to save the game for Takamatsu FA. His fellow American import forward Kevin Smith (195-89, college: Richmond) added 17 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Five Shiga L-Stars and four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing and Kyoto Hannar. Takamatsu FA lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 40 games lost. Shiga L-Stars' next round opponent will be Oita Heat Devils (#8) on the road where they are favorite.
