The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But USC Leipzig won third quarter 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where USC Leipzig used huge pressure winning it 24-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 13-15. Hertener Loewen made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game, while USC Leipzig only scored eight points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Hertener Loewen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. USC Leipzig was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Vincent Kittmann (199-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Josh Taylor (201-87, college: E.Kentucky) helped adding 27 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals and the other American import guard Lamar Morinia (183-81, college: Montana St.-N.) scored 28 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Four Hertener Loewen and five USC Leipzig players scored in double figures.
