1/8 Finals Round 3: Zalgiris-Sabonio - Ezerunas-Karys 79-70

Zalgiris-Sabonio booked the spot in the quartefinals after defeating Ezerunas-Karys at home court. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ezerunas-Karys won third quarter 19-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris-Sabonio made 30-of-38 charity shots (78.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Ezerunas-Karys turnovers. Ezerunas-Karys was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tauras Jogela (201-93) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Rolandas Jakstas (200-92) accounted for 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Center Marius Janisius (203-77) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Andrius Slezas (200-75) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Ezerunas-Karys in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
