Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kotwica (17-17) against fifth ranked Polpharma (13-20) on Wednesday night. Visiting Kotwica was crushed by Polpharma in Starogard 85-65. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-65. Polpharma dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kotwica's 30. Swingman Grzegorz Arabas (190-78) scored 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Brandon Hazzard (188-87, college: Troy) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Wojciech Kaminski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Lukasz Wichniarz (197-82) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Demetrius Brown (201-83, college: San Jose St.) scored 22 points. Polpharma have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position in Group B with 13-20 record. Kotwica lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with 17 games lost. Polpharma will meet higher ranked Siarka Jezioro (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kotwica will play against the league's leader Slask Wroclaw and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
