There was a minor upset in Warszawa where 6th ranked AZS Politechnika Warszawska (10-23) was defeated by eighth ranked LKS Sphinx (6-28) 81-66 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-66. LKS Sphinx outrebounded AZS Politechnika Warszawska 44-27 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Krzysztof Sulima (202-90) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. point guard Piotr Trepka (182-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Four LKS Sphinx players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Michal Nowakowski (202-88) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lukasz Wilczek (189-86) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. AZS Politechnika Warszawska's coach rotated eleven players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted LKS Sphinx maintains eighth position in Group B with 6-28 record. AZS Politechnika Warszawska lost third consecutive game. AZS Politechnika Warszawska at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 23 games lost. LKS Sphinx will face league's second-placed AZS Koszalin on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
