Regular Season Round 12: Tijuana - Los Mochis 85-80

Very expected game when 7th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (5-7) were defeated on the road by third ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (8-3) 85-80. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Pioneros Los Mochis won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. The other American import power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Luis Lopez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Tayloe Taylor (191-86, college: Livingstone) replied with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Bahamas forward Rashad Moss (203-86, college: UALR) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Pioneros Los Mochis. Four Tijuana Zonkeys and five Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys maintains third position with 8-3 record behind leader Guaymas. Pioneros Los Mochis at the other side keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys' next round opponent will be Garra Canera de Navolato (#6) at home. Pioneros Los Mochis will play against the league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas.
