Regular Season Round 27: Tln Kalev - Rapla 99-72

There was a minor upset in Tallinn where 4th placed Rapla (14-14) was rolled over by sixth ranked Tln Kalev (12-16) 99-72 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Tln Kalev. Rapla was better in fourth quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tln Kalev forced 23 Rapla turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tln Kalev players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Sven Kaldre (197-91) with 21 points and center Rauno Nurger (207-93) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tln Kalev have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with TTU. Rapla lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 14 games lost.
