Suduva had little problems overcoming Zalgiris-Sabonio in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Matinga-Juod.. Zalgiris-Sabonio managed to win fourth quarter 31-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Matinga-Juod. made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Matinga-Juod. had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Zalgiris-Sabonio's players. Guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Matinga-Juod. players scored in double figures. Forward Rolandas Jakstas (200-92) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Marius Grigonis (194-94) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
