Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Fabriano (8-25) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Orlandina (20-13) 100-65 on Thursday. The game without a history. Orlandina led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fabriano's 36 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Orlandina forced 20 Fabriano turnovers and outrebounded them 40-14 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Niccolo Damiani (204-90, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Francesco Pellegrino (210-91) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Orlandina players scored in double figures. Orlandina's coach Giovanni Perdichizzi felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Alessio Iardella (187-88) with 14 points and 4 assists and power forward Luca Usberti (201-73) scored 15 points. Newly promoted Orlandina maintains second place with 20-13 record having just -3 point less than leader Napoli, which they share with Ferentino and Torino. Fabriano lost seventh consecutive game. Fabriano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 25 games lost. Orlandina will face league's leader Omegna on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fabriano will play against Perugia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
