An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Belvaux. Second ranked Soleuvre faced 3rd placed Heffingen. Host Soleuvre (12-11) defeated guests from Heffingen (3-20) 94-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Heffingen won third quarter 26-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Soleuvre made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Soleuvre outrebounded Heffingen 33-15 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American Lamonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Guard Michel Weyland (180-81) helped adding 22 points and 8 assists. Five Soleuvre players scored in double figures. Soleuvre's coach Jean-Pierre Fransquet used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Canadian forward Billy McNutt (203-85) responded with 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Domigue Benseghir (183-85) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Soleuvre maintains second place in League with 12-11 record having eleven points less than leader T71. Newly promoted Heffingen keeps the third position with 20 games lost. Soleuvre will meet at home league's leader Basket Esch in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Heffingen will play against BBC Nitia in Bettembourg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
