Fifteenth-ranked Stade Clermont (8-20) made lots of trouble for twelfth ranked Angers BC 49 (14-14). Angers BC 49 managed to secure only five-point victory 83-78. However their fans expected easier game. Stade Clermont was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Angers BC 49, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-6. Angers BC 49 brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Stade Clermont was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Tony Ramphort (176-82) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Angers BC 49's coach Jacky Perigois allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Marcus Jackson (202-82, college: Marquette) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Xavier Delarue (196-77) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Stade Clermont. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Angers BC 49 moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Lievin and Challans. Stade Clermont lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Angers BC 49 will play against league's second-placed Saint-Quentin on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Stade Clermont will play against Montbrison (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
