Date: March 31, 2012
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Alghero (8-16) was outscored on the road by second ranked Vigarano (20-4) 91-36 on Saturday. The game without a history. Vigarano led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alghero to just 4 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Vigarano dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Alghero's 30 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Vigarano forced 29 Alghero turnovers and outrebounded them 49-27 including a 43-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Eleonora Laffi (188-83) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Polish forward Magdalena Losi (173-80) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Maria Forni (179-85) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and guard Cristina Mei (179-85) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Alghero. Alghero's coach Andrea Paccarie gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
